About the guard

A football shin guard in carbon composite

Monolit has a carbon fibre and epoxy shell, two ventilation openings, a shock-absorbing edge and FoamFit against the shin.

Weight depends on size: the 12 cm guard weighs around 20 grams, the 14 cm around 30 grams and the 19 cm around 40 grams.

The same guard on both legs

The guard is the same on both legs, so either one goes on either leg. All sizes fit all ages. You choose by how much you want the guard to cover.

What the rules say

Shin guards are mandatory in all match football, at every age. They must be completely covered by the socks and give reasonable protection. There is no minimum size, which is why you see such small guards in professional matches.

A pilot, a carbon fibre motorcycle and a son with eczema

Dieter Bergmann is a retired airline captain who builds motorcycles in his garage in his spare time. When his son Oskar, a youth elite footballer, got eczema from ordinary shin guards, Dieter brought his knowledge of composites to the pitch.
